Hi! I'm JoLynn Aldinger

I have 20+ years of teaching experience in grades K-2 and 6th. Most of those years have been in 1st grade, where I became passionate about teaching reading. My interest in literacy led to getting a Master's Degree in Education. When I recognized the need for more knowledge and a deeper understanding how all children learn to read, I completed both the IMSE Orton-Gillingham+ and Mophology+ training, and the intensive IMSE practicum.  I am now certified as a Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction. Structured literacy and the science of reading have been a game changer in my classroom and with the students I tutor.

I love the power of tutoring and the difference it can make in a child's ability to understand our language. It gives them the tools and knowledge they need to be confident in their classrooms.

When I am not teaching or tutoring, I love reading, baking, spending time with my family and friends, listening to podcasts (usually about literacy), and playing with our adorable Shih-Tzu puppy, Millie.

I would love to help your child build their confidence and empower them through literacy!
