Hi! I’m JoLynn Aldinger.

I bring over 20 years of teaching experience across grades K–2 and 6th, with the majority of my career spent in 1st grade, where my passion for teaching reading truly began. This passion led me to earn a Master’s Degree in Education and pursue advanced training to better understand how all children learn to read.

I have completed IMSE Orton-Gillingham+ and Morphology+ training, along with the intensive IMSE practicum. I am also certified as a Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction. The science of reading and structured literacy has been transformative in both my classroom and tutoring work, allowing me to support students more effectively and confidently.

I believe deeply in the power of tutoring and the meaningful difference it can make in a child’s ability to understand language. With the right tools and instruction, students gain not only skills but also confidence that carries into every part of their learning.

Outside of teaching and tutoring, I am a mom and wife. Our daughter is about to graduate from college and our son is finishing his freshman year of college. Exciting things ahead for both of them. I also enjoy reading, baking, spending time with family and friends, listening to literacy-focused podcasts, and playing with our adorable Shih-Tzu puppy, Millie.

I would love to help your child build confidence and thrive through literacy!
